Why everything here is a forgery
Hauntology is the feeling of being haunted by things that never happened: a past you remember but never lived, a future you were promised and never got. AI has seen every newsreel, every VHS trailer, every industrial film, and it can dream up the ones that were never made. Original Forgeries uses that to build the world nobody saw, the future that never arrived, the broadcast that came in on a channel that doesn’t exist.
The machine supplies the footage. The story, the pacing and the cut come from twenty years in the edit bay. Every forgery has a real hand behind it.
